BIOGRAPHY

Ryan Ritchie - Biography 2022 

Ryan Ritchie is a Melbourne based composer performer and producer.  He is the founding member orchestral jazz electro ensemble The Raah Project and the artist behind live hip hop/jazz ensemble True Live. His original work draws influence from the traditions of contemporary jazz, minimalism, hip hop and dance. 

He has performed at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Melbourne and Perth International Arts Festivals, Musiques en stock – Cluses (France), Festival de La Cité at Lausanne (Switzerland), Fun Festival (Beijing), Big Day Out, and supported Moby, De La Soul, Roots Manuva, The Black Eyed Peas, Roni Size, The Roots and Justin Timberlake among others.   His recent collaborations include Warp records Clarke for a project with contemporary dancer Melanie Lane for the Melbourne Festival.

As a writer, producer conductor and arranger, he has contributed to three ARIA award winning records and singles (Troye Sivan, KIMBRA, and Oh Mercy), worked as musical and orchestral director/arranger for Kate Ceberano, and won the ISC (International Songwriting Contest) twice. Ryan has also written conducted and produced string arrangements for artists DMAs, Tuka, TZU, Birds of Tokyo, Missy Higgins and Troye Sivan.  In 2023 producing arranging and conducting #5 ARIA club track ‘Sucker’ and #8 ARIA club track ‘Girl DJ’ by DeSaint.

As a composer his work has been performed by ANU and ANAM orchestras locally and internationally by the Luxembourg Philharmonic and the Johanne Strauss Ensemble, his work has been used in various film and television projects and events including.  Melbourne International Fashion Festival, The Hold Label, Conspiracy 365, Visit Tasmania, Beverly Hills 90210, and Neighbours and Home and Away.
